5th Grade Five Star Online Families,
As a reminder, the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments are administered each year in Colorado to students to see how students are progressing toward standards. More information about the CMAS assessment can be found at https://www.cde.state.co.us/assessment/cmas.
5th graders will be assessed in English Language Arts, Math, and Science in person and students will be required to attend sessions on three different days. **If your student is on a 504/IEP and receives accommodations, there may be a need for more testing days. We will reach out to you in addition to this communication.** All CMAS assessments will take place at the Adams 12 central building at 1500 E. 128th Avenue. Lunch will be provided on testing days. More information on menu will be sent closer to the exams.

Please plan on dropping your student off at 7:40am each testing day and picking your student up based on the times listed above.
Opting Out of Testing
Parents can elect their children to not participate in the CMAS assessments. Please understand that by doing so, neither you nor the school will receive results for those assessments, which could be used to gauge your child’s academic achievement or growth, provide us with important information about our education program, and/or to develop an individualized academic plan for your child.
If you would like to opt your child out of the CMAS assessments, please complete this test refusal form (formulario de exclusión de prueba). We would request that you complete this form as soon as you have made an informed decision. If you choose to opt out, student’s attendance will be excused on testing days.
