*This communication is for students in grades 4-5 at FSOA. Information for our secondary students will be in a separate email.*

 

Dear FSOA Parents/Guardians and Students, 

Spring Break has arrived! We hope that you enjoy this week and come back ready to learn on Monday, April 7th.  We also will begin our state assessments once we return after break, so please double-check your calendars now to make sure your child(ren) can attend.

Upcoming State Testing

• Let’s show PHOENIX PRIDE for our school!   In the month of April, our students will participate in MAP and CMAS assessments.  
• Please mark your calendars with our testing dates. These dates can be found on our important dates calendars (English / Spanish)
• Action Required for Middle School Students and Parents (Grades 4-5):
  • Please review these letters for additional information about the CMAS.   
    • CMAS ELA & Math (grade 4)
    • CMAS ELA, Math, & Science (grade 5)

Take A Child to Work Day

• Thursday, April 24, 2025, has been designated as Take A Child to Work Day.  The purpose of this day is to help youth make connections between education and a future in the workplace.  
• Children who attend work with a parent will not be counted absent from school.  However, students will be expected to complete all make-up assignments, or alternate assignments related to their shadow experience.
• If you plan to have your child attend work with you, please contact the main office at 720-972-7430 to let our office know and to excuse their absence.

Sweet News! Butter Braids Are Back!

• Get ready for a delightful treat that's both delicious and supports our school community! Indulge in hand-braided pastries filled with flavors like cinnamon, apple, chocolate, and cream cheese. Made with real butter and high-quality ingredients. We're also offering Gluten-Free cookie dough. Order by April 23rd for delivery on May 7th.
