FSOA: Secondary Parent Communication - 8/30/2024

**This communication is for students in grades 6-12 at FSOA. Information for our elementary students will be in a separate email. Students enrolled at Five Star College Now should disregard.**

Dear FSOA Parents/Guardians and Students, 

As August draws to a close, I hope everyone is able to enjoy a well deserved rest over this Labor Day weekend. Additionally, please remember that the district has a professional learning day on Tuesday. Since students do not have classes on Tuesday, we will instead hold synchronous classes on Wednesday.

Schedule for Next Week

• Monday, September 2:  
  • No school -- Labor Day
• Tuesday, September 3:
  • No school -- Inservice Day 
  • Office Open 10 AM to 4 PM
• Wednesday, September 4:  
  • Will be following a TUESDAY bell schedule
  • No peer engagement and no virtual learning lab
• Thursday, September 5:
  • Regular School Day
• Friday, September 6:  
  • Regular School Day

On Tuesday, August 27th, teachers assigned asynchronous work that will be due on Monday, September 9th.  No work will be due on 9/2 or 9/3.

Board unanimously votes to place Blueprint funding measures on upcoming ballot

• In front of a packed house, the Board voted to place both Blueprint funding measures - a bond for building investments and an override for programming investments - on the November ballot. Learn more, including what our school would receive.

• Click for this week's Community Wellness Bulletin. This week's highlights for students ages 6-13 include information about a Free Kids Fishing Derby. Highlights for the community include a free sports equipment drive, an event to trade plastic bags for reusable ones, and a volunteering opportunity to clean up a local river.
