Dear FSOA Parents/Guardians and Students,
Please see important updates for this week below!
Upcoming Work Deadlines
-
On Tuesday, August 29th, secondary teachers assigned approximately 1.5 week's worth of asynchronous learning
-
This asynchronous work will be due on Monday, September 11th. No work was due on 9/4 or 9/5.
Edmentum Family Access
In an effort to keep guardians informed of student progress, we would like to offer Edementum Family Portal accounts. On Monday guardians will receive an email on how to set up an account to receive student progress reports from Edmentum.
Building Healthy Communities
Have you had a chance to attend a Building Healthy Communities event? This year’s first event is on September 14th from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Educational Support Center (1500 E. 128th Ave). Join us for a showing of Screenagers Under the Influence, a documentary that examines how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects on substance use. This film explores strategies to encourage healthy decision-making and support teen mental health. Learn more about our teens’ current reality of being flooded by images on social media, movies, and TV shows about vaping, drugs, and alcohol. The main focus of the evening will be identifying practical solutions for keeping our teens safe in a changing world.
You can learn more about the event and register here.
Skate City Fundraiser
Bring your friends and family for a GREAT back-to-school Skate Party Event at SkateCity from 5-7pm (200 W. 121st Ave). Admission is $7 and skate rental is $4. Proceeds from this event will be used to fund future FSOA family and community events!
