FSOA 1/2/23 Elementary Parent Communication

FSOA 1/2/23 Elementary Parent Communication

**This communication is for students in grades 2-5.  Information for our secondary students will be in a separate email.**

Dear Students and Families,

We are excited to see our students and start second semester.  As a reminder, class resumes tomorrow, January 3rd.  Please read below for information on schedule changes, assessment day information,  important dates for second semester, and next weeks at a glance!

Important Dates

Please see our second semester important dates (linked on the right side)– including FSOA Senior Graduation!

Schedule Changes Second Semester

  • As communicated prior to break, instead of your student seeing multiple teachers throughout the morning for math, reading, and writing, we will transition to one primary teacher for second semester (ELD, SpEd groups, and intervention will still see specialists).

  • Here are the revised schedules for second semester. Teachers will be building in breaks and independent work time throughout the morning to support students.

  • Please note ELD groups will now occur in the mornings!

Save the Date: In-Person Assessment Day January 13th

  • Friday, January, 13th, 2023 is Elementary Assessment Day.  The purpose of this day is to test your students in reading and math so that our teachers can plan instruction that is individualized to your student’s needs! At this time, our most accurate testing is formatted for in-person administration.  This means we are requesting that your child(ren) come in person for one session (3 hours) on Assessment Day in order to complete these assessments.

  • Time Slots:

    • 8:00am-11:15am Students with Last Names: A-K

    • 12:00pm-3:15pm Students with Last Names: L-Z
