FSOA Elementary Updates: 4/28/23

**This communication is for students in grades 2-5.  Information for our secondary students will be in a separate email.**

Dear FSOA Parents/Guardians and Students, 

Please see important updates for this week below!

Assessment Day

Please note that Friday, May 5th, 2023 is Elementary Assessment Day.  The purpose of this day is to test your students in reading and math so that our teachers can plan instruction that is individualized to your student’s needs! At this time, our most accurate testing is formatted for in-person administration.  This means we are requesting that your child(ren) come in-person for one session (3 hours, 15 minutes) on Assessment Day in order to complete these assessments. 

On assessment day, there will be no live instruction. The regular daily schedule will resume on Monday, May 8th.  For these in-person assessments, we will be utilizing space at a NEW LOCATION in Thornton.  We will be using Thornton Crossroads Church.

8:00am-11:15am Last Names: A-K

12:00pm-3:15pm Last Names: L-Z

Each student should bring the following materials:

• Charged District Chromebook and Headphones

• 2 Sharpened Pencils

• Water bottle, if desired

• Masks are optional

Yearbooks for Sale!

Buy your 2022-2023 school yearbook! Yearbook prices are $15 for the digital copy OR $30 for the digital and Hard Copy package. Go to www.PayForit.net  and register/ log into your account to add a yearbook to your students account. The yearbook purchasing options are listed under "Optional Fees". Yearbooks will be distributed in May.

Spread The Word! 

• We have been granted multi-district school status from the state of Colorado.  This allows us to enroll online students from across the state!  

• Please spread the word to friends, neighbors, or family members that have students who might enjoy the unique learning opportunity provided at FSOA! Here are some flyers you can share! (ENG, SPA)

• We are accepting applications for the 2023 - 2024 school year through the Adams 12 Choice process.

**For students to be able to go on a field trip, they need to fill out the Intent to Participate form in order to secure buses.  Your student will receive an email after the form closes confirming their spot on the field trip. No walk-on spots available.
