*This communication is for students in grades 4-5 at FSOA. Information for our secondary students will be in a separate email.*

 

Dear FSOA Parents/Guardians and Students, 

It was wonderful to celebrate with our graduating seniors on Wednesday, and we look forward to continuing the celebration with our Make a Difference Awards and 5th and 8th grade Continuation Ceremony next Tuesday.

Next week we will see you *virtually* in class on Tuesday and Wednesday, and *in-person* on Thursday at our End of Year Celebration!

Memorial Day - Monday, May 26th

• FSOA will be closed on Monday, May 26th for Memorial Day.

End of Semester Schedule 

• As a reminder, the last week of school has a different schedule
  • Monday (5/26)
    • No School - Memorial Day
  • Tuesday (5/27)
    • Synchronous Class in the morning 
    • ELD and SPED groups meet
    • No CAMP Class
  • Wednesday (5/28)
    • Synchronous Class in the morning
    • ELD and SPED groups meet
    • No CAMP Class
  • Thursday (5/29)
    • End of Year Celebration from 9 - 12pm

Chromebooks and Chargers

• For any students leaving the Adams 12 district, please return your Chromebook to either our front office or bring it to the End of Year Celebration. 
• If you are staying with FSOA or going to a different school in Adams 12, you will keep your Chromebook and charger over summer. 

End of Year Celebration (all FSOA students and Families)

• Join us for a day of fun activities and ice cream on Thursday, May 29th from 9-12 at Five Star Stadium (9351 Washington St. Thornton CO 80229). 
• Here's a sneak peek at what to expect:
  • Games Galore: We have an assortment of classic games that will entertain both kids and adults alike.
  • Arts and Crafts: Use your creativity to make a memento to cherish for years to come.
  • Bouncy House: Jump, bounce, and slide to your heart's content in our inflatable bouncy house. 
  • Dunk Tank: Dunk your favorite teachers! For $5, get three throws. For $10, get seven throws. For $20, get a guaranteed dunk! Cash only- no change provided.  
  • Delicious Ice Cream: Families can purchase ice cream from the Sweet Cow dessert truck.

• There will be no yearbook sales at the event.
• Students are encouraged to leave any bags at home. If needed, please bring a clear bag due to the stadiums’ new bag policy

Continuation (5th and 8th Grade) and Student Awards

• Save the Date: We will hold an in-person ceremony to honor our students!  
  • The ceremony will take place on May 27, 2025 at 6pm at the Educational Support Center (1500 E 128th Avenue, Thornton, CO 80241).     
  • We will be celebrating the continuation of our 5th and 8th grade students as they move onto the next step in their educational journey. 
  • In addition to celebrating continuation, we will also recognize our “Make a Difference” awards for elementary, middle and high school. 
  • Students who will be receiving a Make A Difference Award received an invitation on Thursday, May 1st.

Free Summer Meals

• Adams 12 will be offering free meals to families at locations across the district throughout the Summer. Check out this flyer to see the schedule and locations near you.
