The Phoenix Boost

This is a new section of our newsletter that will have weekly tips and tricks to help you and your students in school. 

This week: Sit down with your child and create a goal for the week. Write it down and display it in an area that can be seen frequently like the refrigerator door, bathroom mirror, or set a reminder on your device to pop up daily. Then, connect with your child throughout the week about their progress toward the goal and how you can help them reach the goal!

Example Goals

• I will turn in ALL my work in ALL my classes.

• I will turn in any missing work/assignments in my classes.

• I will attend virtual or in person learning lab to get help from a teacher in the class I am struggling with the most.

Five Star 5K and Mile of Smiles

The Five Star 5K and Miles of Smiles is coming up on Saturday, May 9! This fun, family-friendly event welcomes walkers and runners of all ages, and also includes a FREE multicultural wellness festival with food, games, and giveaways. Even more exciting, our school will get back 25% of our staff and student registration fees to use for next year’s wellness events and activities.

Register today and join students, families, and staff from our school and across the district as we show Five Star pride!

In the month of April, our students will participate in in-person SAT, PSAT, and/or CMAS Assessments.  Please mark your calendars now! 

• Grades 5, 6, 7, 8:  

  • April 6th & 8th. 

  • April 9th for Grades 5 & 8 ONLY

• Grades 9 and 10: 

  • April 15th (AM or PM)

• Grade 11

  • April 16th (AM or PM) .
